Atrio has no teleprompter remote support
If you are looking for an app that pairs with a Bluetooth clicker or teleprompter remote, Atrio does not do that. There is no pairing screen for a handheld button or game controller.
Atrio solves the same problem, moving the script when you cannot reach the iPhone screen, by listening to your voice.
How voice follow replaces a clicker
Turn on voice follow, and Atrio matches your spoken words to the script on the iPhone using Apple Speech or the optional NVIDIA Parakeet TDT v3 model. The line advances only when you say the words. Stop mid-sentence to think or take a breath, and the script waits right there until you start speaking again. Your hands stay empty on camera.
Atrio is free to download. Autoplay, manual scroll, front-camera recording and mirror mode are free. Voice follow is free for your first 3 sessions, then a one-time $14.99 in-app purchase unlocks it for life. No subscription. No ads. No account.
When a physical remote still makes sense
A physical remote makes sense when a second person operates the teleprompter for you, or when you need to jump backward several paragraphs by hand from across the room. Because Atrio has no remote support, it is not built for a two-person crew where an operator paces the speaker.
If you record alone on an iPhone and want the script to follow your pace without a clicker in your hand, read more on our voice-activated teleprompter page.
Questions about remote control and Atrio
- Does Atrio work with a teleprompter remote?
- No. Atrio has no support for a physical remote, Bluetooth clicker, or game controller. Its hands-free control is voice follow.
- Can I pair a Bluetooth remote with Atrio?
- No. Atrio does not read input from any paired remote or external button.
- How do you control Atrio without a remote?
- Turn on voice follow. It advances the script as you speak and holds the line when you pause, so you never have to click a button to adjust the scroll. Autoplay and manual scroll, controlled on the iPhone screen, are also free.
- Is voice follow a real substitute for a remote?
- For solo recording on an iPhone, yes. A remote lets you adjust the script position from across the room without touching the screen. Voice follow keeps the script matched to your speaking pace automatically, so you do not have to hold or hide a clicker on camera.
- Does Atrio work with a physical teleprompter glass rig?
- Atrio has horizontal and vertical mirror mode so you can place your iPhone in a beam-splitter glass rig and read off the glass with voice follow or autoplay. However, if your rig came with a Bluetooth hardware remote, that controller will not pair with Atrio.
